Level #1
Basic On-Leash Obedience
Level #1 on-leash obedience training introduces any dog and its owner to the fundamentals of obedience training.
A dog’s intellect is truly a wonderful thing to witness, and as you teach your dog these important words that will play a role throughout its lifetime, we’ll then test your dog to confirm he understand the words, and is not just following a hand because there might be a treat there.
Distance verbal commands and commands where the dog cannot see you are introduced in both the private in-home setting and the group class setting.
A strong emphasis on proper leash control and a calm, relaxed approach to walking your dog will help you establish the necessary relationship, allowing you to bring your dog wherever you want.
Subjects covered:
End leash pulling – sit – stay – down – down/stay – heel – quiet – come – door training – distant and blind commands – overall behavior modification and much more!
We hired Ron under an emergency situation when our rescue dog, Jack, attacked my daughter in the face! We had tried other local trainers but had NO success. With his fear aggression we never knew when he was going to attack. We thought we had no choice but to give him up. We’re happy to say that because of Ron’s instruction and expertise, Jack will be staying in the family! Ron is definitely “The Dog Whisperer” in our eyes! I HIGHLY recommend Ron to anyone who needs the perfect dog trainer!!

We reached out to Ron after adopting our second dog. Our older dog, Bailey who was 8 1/2 at the time, had some aggression issues and we didn’t want our puppy, Bear, to fall into the same behaviors. We weren’t sure how Bailey would do with the training at her age, but the difference we see in her since training with Ron has been amazing. The training also really paid off for Bear. He has turned into such an obedient, amazing addition to our family and I truly believe we couldn’t have done it without Ron’s help. We loved working with Ron so much that we have recommended him to friends and will use him for other dogs we adopt in the future!

We adopted Pepper as a leash-reactive 3-year-old with bad habits including jumping on furniture and pulling relentlessly in all directions on walks. This was a problem because our 13-year-old daughter needed to be able to walk her. Working with Ron, it blew our minds how quickly his techniques stuck. Pepper now ignores furniture, has excellent leash manners, and while still not thrilled to see other dogs, will heel and walk calmly past them. We are able to have much more fun as a family thanks to Ron’s teaching.

We adopted our rescue puppy Turner right before Christmas 2017. Given we were both first time dog owners, we knew that we needed some guidance so we would be able to have a well behaved dog at home or elsewhere. Ron’s technique allowed us as the owners to be the trainers and we saw results immediately. Anywhere we went people would be impressed when we told them her age. She’s been so good that we even were able to have her in our wedding.
