Why Train

Teach your dog to listen up!
Dogs are unique animals that instinctively want to be members of a family unit. When you bring a dog or puppy home, their instinct is to figure out where they fit within their new pack environment. Depending on their personality type, they could think their place is at the top of the hierarchy ladder, and sometimes this can spell trouble if you’re not prepared.

Through training you can get your dog to focus more on being obedient, and responding to commands as a subordinate would respond to a pack leader.
Training is a critical component to a healthy relationship with your dog. Our dogs thrive on the praise they receive when commands are properly obeyed, and they will look to repeat whatever behaviors resulted in that reward.

Conditioning your dog to immediately respond to your commands doesn’t take much effort, but it does require that you’re consistent in your method of correction and reward. Even with basic training, your dog will happily accept you and your family members as the Pack Leaders.
You don’t need an obedience champion, but teach the basics!
A happy obedient dog...priceless!
According to the ASPCA, approximately 8 to12 million companion animals are surrendered to shelters nationwide every year, and approximately 5 to 9 million of them are ultimately euthanized. Many of the dogs in these shelters were left there because of behavioral issues that would have been avoided even with basic training.

Dogs that engage in destructive or aggressive behaviors may just be acting as nature intended. Training teaches them alternatives to these behaviors.
