American Alpha K9 Training helped me take control of my one-year-old puppy through our training sessions. When I first brought Lucy to Ron, she had been impossible to walk anywhere, and would bite me constantly. After just a few sessions, I saw a change in her attitude and how she listened to me and even interacted with me. I used to joke with my wife that we got a “broken” German Shepard, turns out I was the problem. Before I started working with Ron, I had virtually no control over her. Ron has been a significant help in training our puppy. Shiner is a Stafordshire Terrier and we wanted her to be properly trained for not only is her look intimidating to people as well as our main priority protecting (our year and a half old little girl). With Ron’s expertise and dedication of myself Shiner has learned basic commands and is my daughters best friend. Even though both of our dogs had completed puppy and level one training at another place they had terrible leash manners and only listened to us when they felt like it. Seriously, our female pulled me down on a busy street while trying to get to another dog. After one lesson with Ron our dogs began showing huge improvements! We have a very cute (but fresh) mini Australian Shepherd named Jake. Since enrolling in American Alpha K9, we have seen major improvements in Jake’s behavior. Ron’s one-on-one lessons help target Jake’s specific needs and move at his pace. The techniques learned in the lessons are simple, but very effective, and easy to work on at home. The group classes are then a great way to see how Jake responds with the distraction of other dogs around. We have worked with Ron since Sophie was about 9 months. She was very rambunctious and out of control on walks and when meeting new friends. Within a week Sophie was walking on leash without pulling and under control when meeting new friends on the street. After 2 sessions she will now heel while walking off-leash as well as return when called or sit and lay down from a distance. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Ron and look forward to doing more advanced sessions in the future!

We adopted our rescue puppy Turner right before Christmas. Given we were both first time dog owners, we knew that we needed some guidance so we would be able to have a well behaved dog at home or elsewhere. We were first time dog owners and rescued a dog that had been a stray. She was lunging at cars and people. Ron gave our whole family the tools to train her. He was patient and flexible with our dog and our humans!

We first started training with Ron when our sweet, untrained English bulldog puppy, Gus, developed an attitude that needed to be addressed. When we rescued Bella we immediately noticed that she was dog aggressive. She couldn’t be controlled when she saw another dog walk by the house or when out on walks. Before Ron we could not walk Rosie without a harness, otherwise she would pull excessively. After one training session with Ron her pulling stopped. One of the greatest parts of our training with Ron has been his group classes. Ron’s group classes tested Rosie to perform everything we had been working on at home. It was absolutely amazing to see her transformation! Rosie has become an incredible listener and a very well trained dog. Ron has been a true godsend for our family. Ron has done an excellent job of helping us train Mindy. When we first saw the commands that other dogs were responding to, we didn’t think Mindy would ever be focused enough get there, but with Ron’s help she has. Ron listens to you when you’re struggling with a command and quickly adjusts his approach to ensure you get the desired result every time. Not only has Mindy become significantly more obedient and easier to walk on a leash, but the training has been tons of fun for us too!

Being a Police Officer, My family wanted a dog they could feel safe with while I was at work! I needed to make sure they could control the dog with confidence. Oakley was 6 months old when we reached out to Ron in desperate need of help. Candy was 5 months old when we realized that we would need help with her training. We called Ron when Wrigley proved to be a puppy with an attitude. We felt like we were losing a battle for control. Now that we have started training with Ron our family is much happier. Abby is an eight-month old English Bulldog. We started her training with American Alpha Canine when she was three-months old. I was worried about handling Bodie after my shoulder surgery because of his size and strength, he always pulled the leash and jumped after anything that moved. After working with Ron, I learned how to be more of a leader with him. Bodie become a completely different dog because of our training. We adopted Pepper as a leash-reactive 3 year-old with bad habits including jumping on furniture and pulling relentlessly in all directions on walks. This was a problem because our 13 year-old daughter needed to be able to walk her. Working with Ron, it blew our minds how quickly his techniques stuck. Pepper now ignores furniture, has excellent leash manners, and while still not thrilled to see other dogs, will heel and walk calmly past them.
